Convert supported images without confusing format and quality

This converter changes supported JPG and PNG images into the selected target format. The single-image client path runs in the browser. A multi-image request can use server processing and return a ZIP archive. Keep original files and inspect the exported copies before replacing website assets.

Try a single-image conversion

  1. Select a small, non-sensitive PNG or JPG.
  2. Choose JPG or PNG in Convert To.
  3. Convert and download the generated file.
  4. Open the downloaded file and check its dimensions, background, and visible details.
  5. Compare its bytes with the source if size is part of your goal.

Conversion does not choose the ideal dimensions for your page. To experiment with maximum width or height, use the Image Compressor as a separate step and evaluate the result again.

What happens to transparency

A JPG cannot retain the transparent areas of a PNG in the same way. The current single-image browser path fills the background white before exporting a JPG. If you need a different background, prepare that composition in an editor first. If the image must blend into a changing background, keeping a transparent PNG may be the appropriate choice.

Converting JPG to PNG does not restore detail

A PNG exported from a previously compressed JPG contains the pixels that remain in that JPG; it does not recreate the original detail. Keep an archive copy of source artwork. Avoid repeated format changes when trying candidates, and start each comparison from the same original.

Review an archive one file at a time

For a supported multi-image server request, download the archive before its temporary link expires and open the contained images. Check that each expected source has a corresponding output. Use distinct source filenames to make the batch easier to review. The privacy policy explains server processing, link expiry, and temporary-file cleanup.

If the result is unsuitable

A text screenshot may show artifacts in JPG while a photo may not become smaller in PNG. Choose by the task instead of the extension alone. Preserve an original and inspect transparent areas and backgrounds after conversion.
